Name: Wanda Maximoff Door: TDM #15 door pass to make her a submissive, please! Canon: Marvel Cinematic Universe Canon Point: Post Captain America: Civil WarAge: Canon does not specify, but estimates would put her around 23-25 in Civil War, so I'll split the difference and say 24. Appearance: Link.History: Wiki. Personality: PASSIONATE Wanda has been seen attending protests in flashbacks. Angry over the loss of her parents and the destruction of her country, she devotes herself to getting revenge on the manufacturers of the bombs used in the attacks (Stark Industries). This leads her to teaming up with Ultron, not realizing he's seeking the destruction of basically the entire world.
COMPASSIONATE After realizing she'd teamed up with the wrong person when Ultron's plan was revealed to her, Wanda has become much more aware of protecting innocent people. She'd always been driven to fight for what she believes is right and to stand up against oppression/wrong-doing, but now she is more aware of trying to learn about the side she aligns herself with. She also feels strongly the mistakes she makes, especially when those mistakes cost lives, and frequently beats herself up for it (e.g. spending hours watching news coverage of the bombing in Lagos that she telekinetically sent into a building full of people to get it away from crowds in the street). She is constantly trying to figure out how to be a better person and use her powers for good, but she focuses strongly on the mistakes she makes along the way.
ACTION-ORIENTED (usually) Wanda is typically the sort of person who takes action when action is to be had, especially if those she cares about are in danger. But if she makes a mistake (e.g. accidentally moving an explosion into a building and causing the death of lots of innocent people), Wanda can be seized by doubt and freeze in the middle of things. Usually, she can be talked back into action quickly, though, if someone appeals to her correctly.
SERIOUS Unlike her brother Pietro, Wanda tends not to joke much or even smile all that often. She's a much more serious, quiet individual who likes to observe more than interact.
ANGRY Wanda's had a really tough life - her home (and parents) were bombed, her entire country was destroyed, her brother was killed in front of her... Because of this, she tends to have an angry streak that reveals itself in some pretty rough ways (e.g. ripping Ultron's heart from his chest). She's trying to work through it, though.
LOST Wanda is trying to figure out where she belongs as a person and as an Avenger, as well as how best to utilize the powers she's been given. When she first went into the world, she used them to manipulate and control people's minds but after realizing Ultron's motives (and thus her own) were corrupt, she's tried refocusing her abilities on defense or protection.
INSECURE Along with her mistakes, Wanda spends a lot of time (especially in Civil War) worrying about what others think of her/the fear she instills in people. She does not want people to be afraid of her and doesn't quite know how to deal with that. But she does start taking steps towards confidence in herself as Civil War progresses. Powers and Abilities: While being held and experimented on by HYDRA, Wanda was exposed to the Scepter containing the Mind Stone. This resulted in her gaining psionic-based powers. Essentially, she can manipulate molecular polarity and mess with reality. Specifics are as follows: PSIONIC ENERGY MANIPULATION: Using psionic/telekinetic energy, Wanda creates/project energy that can be used to push, pull, hit, blow away, destroy, levitate, and protect others/herself. The energy can take any shape or form she wants but is always visible as glowing red energy. This is where all of her superhuman powers originate. Through this energy manipulation, she has shown the following sub-abilities:
TELEKINESIS: Move, levitate, manipulate items using her mind/energy manipulation rather than her hands. DISINTEGRATION: Destroys things on a molecular level. FLIGHT: Can hover, levitate, and move through the air in what is akin to a simulation of flight. FORCE-FIELD GENERATION: Creates a super durable cover of energy that can be shaped/manipulated at will, used almost like armor. Also gets used if she is falling/crash landing somewhere to protect her, so not always combat-oriented. TELEPATHY/MENTAL MANIPULATION: Can read minds, communicate telepathically, and access memories/dreams of others. Accessing memories/dreams puts the other person into a trance-like state. Can also create super-realistic illusions and project them into others' minds, also putting them in a trance-like state. EMOTIONAL MANIPULATION: Usually used her mental manipulation powers to create/sow fear or emotional pain in a person; can presumably stir other feelings in someone as well.
NERFS: Wanda is easily one of the most overpowered characters in the MCU but upon arrival in Duplicity, her abilities will be nerfed in size as well as scope. Though she'll still have all the basics, she will only be able to do a fraction of what she's used to when it comes to the psionic molecular stuff (energy manipulation, telekinesis, disintegration). Her force-field generation will be limited to protecting herself and one other person, and her flight will be limited to short ranges/heights (perhaps a couple city blocks and the height of a four-story building). Telepathy/mental manipulation and emotional manipulation will stay the same, but will only be used with ooc permission from other players (if used at all; Wanda is icly not using this nearly as much as before with the canon point she's coming from). Abilities that she has that are not superhuman/are from training are as follows: SPY TRAINING: Hiding in plain sight, observational techniques. EXPERT COMBATANT: Taught hand-to-hand combat so she wouldn't always be reliant on her powers/so she could supplement her powers. BILINGUAL: Fluent in Sokovian, a fictional Eastern European language, and English. Inventory: 1. The family photo Pietro mentions in AoU. 2. Her acoustic guitar. 3. A bottle of black nail polish. Samples: 1. Duplicity TDM #14 & TDM #15 2. The Greening TDM thread. 3. The Greening log thread. This is a horror game, so I'm tossing in some content warnings just to be safe! Content warnings in the post for: abuse/maiming/mutilation (including children), implied cannibalism, body horror blood, drugged food/drinks, status effects, continued implied cannibalism | most of these are not super graphic and are generally heavily implied, but it's from a horror game that just started up and they went hard on the first intro log. Content warnings in the thread itself: implied torture/mutilation/cannabilism, body horror. |
